Student Rings

As a CAD/CAM project the students designed elements in Rhino and then cut a flat wax on the JWX-10 desktop engraver. They worked with the theme
North South Conversations and selected various indigenous flowers from South Africa or England. The flowers were stylised and designed to fit onto a disc shape which, once cast in bronze, was incorporated into a ring. They ended up with a variety of designs, which will be exhibited at the DUT Art Gallery First Hand Exhibition on Thursday 7th June till the 18th June 2012.
